o one more thing. Ur drive shaft U-joints also use bearings (cylindrical shaped ones inside the caps)which allows them to function very well under load and high speed/RPM. Where as ur iniversal extension in your tool box does not use bearings if im correct. Never payed that much attention to the tool. I just know its saved my ass many times. lol

Ur drive shaft on your truck has 2 sets of U-joints. One in the front behind the transmission/tranfer case and the other infront or the rear axle's pumkin.(where it connects to the pinion) If you have 4WD your front drive shaft works the same way. There are also U-joints or CV-joints at the end of your front axle that allow your front wheels to turn and be driving wheels.
I think i got that right.
